"It is not down on any map, true places never are" -- Melville

Your natal chart or horoscope reveals how you see yourself and how others see you. Because it is cast for the precise moment of you birth, no one else in this world of over five billion people has your birthmap. Just as no snowflake is identical to another and every fingerprint is unique, no one in the world has your natal star map although others might share your sun sign.

While sun signs are fun, they are far from your complete chart, which is mathematically calculated for the moment of your birth and is cast according to the longitude and latitude of your place of birth. The sun sign "horoscope" in daily papers and monthly magazines that many people erroneously believe to be their natal horoscope is shared by literally millions of others, and it is written for a mass market audience. Although you might share general planetary transits and personality traits with the four hundred million others who share your season of birth, your actual horoscope is unique and personal.

An Astrogram is an interpreted report based on this actual horoscope. This symbolic mandala is like any map; that is, it is not the territory itself but is instead a guide to the inner you. Reading it, like many right-brain disciplines, calls the intuitive and non-linear brain functions. In contrast, the initial calculations are computed through scientific technology and the information received is intellectually analyzed. The stars impel but they do not compel.
