Congress to Vote on Impeachment
Last Friday, the day that Mercury turned direct, the
Judiciary Committee voted along strict party lines for
articles of impeachment. The process now goes to the full
House where a handful of undecided, swing votes will
decide Clinton’s fate on Thursday. Although the Senate
does not have the two-thirds votes necessary to confirm
impeachment, the Republican controlled House is
determined to prolong the issue.
Astrologically, conservative Republicans sense of justice
(or vengeance, depending on your political persuasion) is
being fueled by strong Pluto vibrations. Over the next two
weeks transiting Pluto opposes the U.S. Uranus, and during
the same interval transiting Saturn is closely squaring the
U.S. Pluto.
Saturn turns direct a few days after Christmas, and this
powerful celestial shift marks the critical turning point,
clearly separating 1998 from 1999. Yet Saturn heads
directly into its critical square to the U.S. Pluto, indicating
intense political battles remain. As much as moderates and
the majority of Americans wish this political torture would
end, the legal hounds remain in hot pursuit.
The doubled Pluto influence is reflected in Clinton’s
horoscope, where transiting Uranus opposes Clinton’s
Pluto (exact in mid-January), and his progressed Mars in
Scorpio is squaring his natal Pluto. Even if the President is
lucky enough to escape with a censure, he will be pursued
politically through the end of his term in office.
Baby Boomers Under Siege
Bill Clinton’s Pluto in Leo, under attack from his
progressed Mars in Scorpio, is leading him to unusually
treacherous terrain, both politically and geographically. His
trip to the Middle East was meant to be a victory lap to
celebrate the Wye Accord, but violent clashes in the
disputed territory make his visit a big unknown fraught
with danger.
Clinton and Netanyahu are not friends, which is odd since
they both have many diplomatic Libra planets and are both
suffering politically from extremist opponents.
Netanyahu’s Libra Sun happens to be precisely square the
U.S. Pluto, so that when transiting Saturn hits one, it also
hits the other.
Netanyahu’s right wing coalition has rebelled against his
trading land for peace, and has organized a no confidence
vote in Israel’s Parliament within two weeks. Over the next
month the extremist elements gain the upper hand in Israel
as transiting Uranus opposes their tenth house Pluto. The
theocracy of Israel, and both Netanyahu and Clinton are
prominent members of the Baby Boom generation, defined
astrologically as those born with intense Pluto in
imperialistic Leo.
On March 1 Saturn enters Taurus, where it forms a
dynamic configuration with Uranus in Aquarius. Extremist
elements all across the global village are gaining
momentum under these celestial influences, as the entire
Baby Boom generation, born with Pluto in Leo, gets
bombarded by dogmatic, headstrong, and radical planetary
forces. Israel in particular has the mythology to be the
center of the cyclone, and in 1999 the corresponding
astrological indicators for serious trouble.
Where have you Gone Joe DiMaggio?
Baseball legend Joe DiMaggio made a miraculous, but
brief recovery from a post-surgery coma last week, but
doctors are still preparing family and friends for his
ultimate demise. DiMaggio is best known for leading the
New York Yankees to the World Series throughout the
1940s with his awesome batting records, most notably a
56-game hitting streak.
DiMaggio was born on November 25, 1914 with his Sun,
Venus, and Mars in athletic Sagittarius. Jupiter, as ruler of
all his Sagittarius planets, is in Aquarius where it coincides
with the U.S. fourth house cusp, plus Uranus, also in
Aquarius, is exactly squaring the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant.
These placements make Joe a genuine American hero; his
name and exploits make Americans feel patriotic and
proud.
DiMaggio’s gifted eye-hand coordination are shown by his
favorable Pallas Athene and Neptune placements. Neptune
trine his Sun, combined with Pallas in Aquarius sextile his
Sun reflects the visual process of imagineering his way to
success. DiMaggio struck out only 369 times in his entire
career, and in his sensational 1941 season he hit 30 homers
and struck out only 13 times.
The Yankee slugger’s Moon in sentimental Pisces shows
revealed itself with his marriage to Marilyn Monroe.
Although they divorced only a year after they married, the
two remained friends until her death. For decades after her
death fresh flowers appeared at her grave each day, and
many speculated that they came from DiMaggio.
