Jupiter in Pisces Brings Apology Watch
Democrat Senator Joseph Lieberman opened the floodgates
last week by openly criticizing the President for his
immoral behavior and failure to give a sincere apology.
Clinton responded immediately from Ireland with his first
“I’m sorry,” as he stood beside Irish Prime Minister Bertie
Ahern. Ahern himself is separated from his wife, and
recently admitted that he is living with his former secretary.
Astrologically, the Apology Watch and Clinton’s
accelerating contrition have been sponsored by religious
Jupiter in compassionate and forgiving Pisces. Jupiter is in
Pisces once every twelve years, and coincidentally (???)
was in Pisces when Richard Nixon resigned on August 9,
1974. Clinton finally uttered the “I’m sorry” phrase when
Jupiter was forming an exact harmonious trine (allowing
ease of expression) to the U.S. Mercury, the ruler of
communications.
The parallels between Nixon and Clinton are growing.
Months before Nixon resigned, he visited Russia and Egypt
where he was hailed as a great statesman. Clinton’s visit to
Russia last week was irrelevant, but in Ireland he was
hailed as a great statesman and given credit for the peace
accord between the IRA and British government.
Jupiter in dualistic Pisces is capable of tremendous vision
and idealism, but the suffering ego plagued by guilt can
vacillate between self-pity and denial. Nixon resigned 50
days after a Solar Eclipse on his Pluto in the tenth house of
career. Clinton just experienced a Solar Eclipse on his Sun.
Over the next two months the outer planets are forming
critical connections to the U.S. horoscope, which is the
final astrological ingredient necessary to trigger a
Presidential resignation.
Home Run Fever
Clinton’s harshest Republican foe has been Congressman
Dan Burton, who was rebuked by his own colleagues for
calling Clinton a “scumbag.” Burton, who has been married
for 38 years, admitted last week to having an extramarital
affair in the 1980s and fathering a child.
Americans, fed up with the scandals in Washington, are
caught up in Home Run fever. Mark McGwire and Sammy
Sosa are closing in on baseball’s most exalted record just
as Mars in heroic Leo is approaching the U.S. Midheaven.*
Mars in Leo is athletic, heroic, dramatic, and a genuine
crowd-pleaser.
Mars reaches the U.S. Midheaven on September 14, a
celestial marker recently primed by the Lunar eclipse of
August 7. McGwire and/or Sosa should break Roger Maris’
record by then, and go on to obliterate it by the end of the
baseball season. Ruth set the standard in 1927 when
glamorous Neptune in Leo opposed the U.S. Moon. Maris
electrified the fans when exciting Uranus in Leo opposed
the U.S. Moon in 1961. Now Mars in Leo is on the same
astrological track.
Mars heading toward the U.S. Midheaven, while bringing a
competitive edge and great entertainment, can express a
more deadly attack mode. Mars to the eclipsed Midheaven
is especially dangerous in terms of terrorist actions, huge
industrial accidents, or sudden military ventures. We can
also expect Kenneth Starr’s Report to Congress by the 14th,
which gives all the salacious details of the Bill and Monica
affair.
Al Gore in the Wings
If Clinton is forced to resign, then Al Gore’s horoscope
should be showing prospects of sudden assumption of
power, and it does. Gore’s horoscope also shows
fascinating parallels to Gerald Ford’s chart when he took
over following Nixon’s resignation.
Al Gore (March 31, 1948; 12:53 pm; Washington D.C.)
was born with his Sun closely aspecting scandalous
Neptune. Gerald Ford (July 14, 1913; 12:43 am; Omaha,
NB) was also born with his Sun closely aspecting
scandalous Neptune. Both Ford and Gore were politically
shaped by popular Presidents who fell precipitously from
grace.
Ford took over as President when his progressed
Midheaven was favorably aspecting (trine) his Sun. Gore’s
progressed Midheaven is now favorably aspecting (sextile)
his Sun. Both Ford and Gore have a natal planet conjunct
the U.S. Midheaven (at 16 degrees Leo). Ford assumed
power as the transiting Sun was passing over the U.S.
Midheaven. Although the outer planets are not yet 100% in
play, we should watch closely what happens when
transiting Mars passes over this same point around
September 13-14.
Janet Reno has just moved one step closer to creating an
Independent Prosecutor to investigate Al Gore’s misdeeds
in the Campaign Finance scandal. Gore’s progressed Sun
and Mars are adversely impacting an asteroid (socially
skillful Juno) in the eighth house of other people’s money.
Newt Gingrich is next in the line of succession should both
Clinton and Gore falter.
