Terrorists Primed for Attack

The U.S. State Department shuttered six American embassies in Africa last Thursday, responding to intelligence reports that they had been surveyed by suspected terrorists associated with Osama bin Laden. The Islamic militant Osama bin Laden remains a “guest” of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, but his network of terrorists were electronically overheard targeting American and British diplomatic missions.

NewsScope readers were assessed of this developing situation a week earlier. Aggressive Mars is currently in the twelfth house of secret activities, and is made dangerous by its square to the U.S. Pluto. The State department action arrived only two days before the exact square of Mars to the U.S. Pluto.

Mars makes this dangerous link every two years, but the simultaneous square between Saturn and Uranus hitting the U.S fourth house cusp creates a long term volatile situation. Mars acts as the trigger to this background vibration. Without the State Department’s precipitous action, one of those six embassies could have been bombed.

The situation does not get better over the next month. Transiting Uranus remains close to the U.S. fourth house cusp, symbolizing the domestic arena and all foreign properties internationally recognized as American territory (which is the official designation of embassies). Transiting Saturn squares Uranus on July 18 when the destructive power between these two reaches maximum voltage.

Jupiter Enters Taurus

Magnificent, expansive Jupiter enters stable, materialistic Taurus on Monday, June 28 and remains in this sign through most of October when its retrograde motion carries it back into Aries. Then Jupiter re-enters Taurus in February 2000 and rapidly catches up with the slower Saturn. These two will be conjunct in Taurus on May 28, 2000.

Many astrologers track this important Jupiter-Saturn cycle because it marks significant economic, social, and political trends. Jupiter and Saturn are conjunct about every 20 years, and tend to come together in the same sign every third conjunction. Jupiter and Saturn were conjunct in Taurus in 1940-41 and previously in 1881.

Taurus coincides with the U.S. seventh house of Other Peoples and Open Enemies, reflecting a stressful confrontation with populations ethnically different from mainstream America. Both these Taurus conjunctions brought major wars involving victimization of large ethnic groups (the Jewish holocaust in World War II and the ethnic cleansing of America’s Indian nations).

The Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Taurus also ushers in rapid industrialization which is consistent with its intrinsic symbolism. In the 1880s railroad tycoons were rapidly expanding across the Wild West, and in World War II America’s industrial base went into high gear to churn out war materiel. Now the U.S. is rebuilding its economic base using the revolutionary telecommunications and computer technologies.

Contrary to traditional astrological beliefs, the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction does not bring the death of an American President. This Presidential Death cycle* corresponds to Neptune’s stressful aspects to the U.S. Midheaven, and is not due until February 2005 to February 2006 when Neptune is opposite the Midheaven.

Stephen King Victimized by Possessed Dog

Gothic horror novelist Stephen King was struck by a van last week, knocking him some 15 feet of the road. King was treated for broken legs and lacerations, and is recuperating at the hospital. Police determined that an unrestrained dog in the Dodge Caravan went wild, causing the driver to lose control.

Stephen King was born on September 21, 1947 (at 1:30 am in Portland, ME) during the outer planet conjunction of Saturn and Pluto. Most everyone born during 1947-48 is undergoing deep personal changes now due to the current Saturn-Uranus square that is exactly overlaying that important conjunction.

King’s craft-oriented Virgo Sun is in the third house of writing. A sharp square to offbeat Uranus shapes his conscious thoughts and musings with the deep undercurrents of the collective unconscious, as symbolized by Uranus guarding the 12th house of the Unknown. King’s bizarre fantasies are further amplified by Mercury, the planet ruling writing and thought processes, conjunct imaginative Neptune.

King’s horoscope has a phenomenal number of precise planetary links to the U.S. horoscope, showing how he among the thousands of wannabees became a megastar. His Mars is exactly conjunct the U.S. Mercury, his writing talent (Mercury) has become a national institution (conjunct U.S. Saturn), and his Ceres, Chiron, Saturn and Pluto are all conjunct the angles of the U.S. Scorpio Rising chart.

King’s accident could have been foreseen by a good astrologer. His secondary progressed Mars and Saturn were exactly conjunct, a very dangerous combination pitting two contrary impulses against each other. The Sun by transit was conjunct his 12th house Uranus, making one suspect that the dog was possessed by some evil spirit.
