Clinton's Evil Starr
The media frenzy surrounding the White House sex scandal
subsided dramatically last week following President
Clinton's earnest denials on Monday and a dignified
delivery of the State of the Union the following day. Are
Americans becoming more like the French? Polls indicate
Americans believe Clinton's political role is more
important than his private affairs.
Clinton might say he has an evil Starr over his head, and
astrologically-speaking he wouldn't be far from the truth.
Pluto often describes extremists, and in Clinton's
horoscope his Pluto is in the eleventh house of political
ideology. Over the next two years Clinton's Pluto gets
powerful activation from major planetary contacts
(including an opposition from transiting Uranus, and a
square from progressed Mars).
In ancient times an astrologer looked to the King's
horoscope to judge the nation's affairs. Clinton's horoscope
holds a similar relevance as long as he holds onto power.
As Clinton projects his internal dynamics onto the world
stage, we can expect the United States will be attracting
ruthless enemies, perhaps best described as political
extremists.
This Tuesday (February 3 at 11:11 am EST) transiting Mars
and Pluto are exactly squaring each other. This dangerous,
explosive, warrior-type energy is now resonating deeply
within Clinton (due to his progressed Mars). We can expect
severe clashes, such as a military invasion into Iraq.
However, Iraq is small potatoes compared to the intense
energy involved with this current planetary line-up, and the
astute observer will keep a close eye on Russian
nationalists, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian interface.
The Eros Mission
On February 17, 1996 (at 3:43 p.m. EST) NASA launched
the first spacecraft designed to rendezvous with a near
earth asteroid. Last week at the height of the Clinton sex
scandal, the spacecraft looped by Earth for a gravity assist
on its way to visiting Eros 433, the largest of the near earth
asteroids. The ultimate goal of the mission is to achieve
orbit around Eros in January 1999, and study the asteroid
for approximately one year.
While scientists investigate the physical traits of Eros,
astrologers are learning about its metaphysical dimension.
Eros in the natal horoscope describes what turns you on
sexually, and can represent compulsive attraction and
passion. Last week as the nation was focused on Lewinski's
erotic adventure, transiting Eros was exactly conjunct the
USA Ascendant (at 8 degrees Scorpio*).
Bill Clinton met Monica Lewinski on November 15, 1995
when his progressed Eros was precisely conjunct his natal
Pluto. Pluto, the planet of power and domination, when
modified by Eros is all about control and manipulation
within the sexual experience. Pluto and Eros will inspire
sexual ultimatums, suspicions, neuroses, and a fascination
with being out-of-control.
Monica Lewinski met Bill Clinton as her progressed Eros
was conjunct her twelfth house Pluto! This secret sexual
obsession with power described by Eros and Pluto was
happening simultaneously in both their charts. While we
cannot define the actual extent of their relationship through
these interchanges, we can say they were both strongly
influenced by these urgent, taboo sexual vibes.
Chelsea Clinton and the Solar Eclipse
On February 26 a Solar Eclipse with enormous astrological
implications will take place at eight degrees Pisces.
Anyone with their Sun or significant natal point at 7-8
degrees Pisces (or Virgo, Sagittarius, or Gemini) will be
morphing out of their present identity into an entirely new
person. The momentous meaning of this Eclipse is
heightened by an exact square from Pluto in Sagittarius.
Ralph Nader, Elizabeth Taylor, and Chelsea Clinton all
have their Sun located at eight degrees Pisces, and we can
anticipate that each one of these individuals is undergoing a
major life change. Whether this is felt as positive evolution,
or miserable decay and defeat depends on the current state
of each person.
Chelsea Clinton (b. Feb. 27, 1980; 11:24 pm; Little Rock)
has her Sun located in the fourth house of the home. The
Solar Eclipse is shaking the foundations of her family, an
interpretation which is reflected by her Leo Moon. Her
Moon is in the ninth house of higher education, but
currently being opposed by transiting Uranus. This
combination describes an emotional crisis which will
continue through the Summer.
Because Uranus returns to oppose her Moon in September,
Chelsea may feel she has to quit school. Then, the Lunar
Eclipse on March 13 is right on her Mercury, so that her
mental attitude is getting distracted and possibly
disillusioned. These tremendous astrological events
indicate that astrologers will want to keep Chelsea on their
radar screens.
